Police Still Searching For Shooter After Marshfield Massachusetts Lockdown-
Police are searching for Allen Warner, who is suspected of murdering his soon to be ex-wife in Marshfield Monday, officials said.
According to the district attorney's office, the woman was being chased by her estranged husband in her car when she called 911, shortly before 6 p.m. When police responded, they found the victim with serious injuries.
She was taken to South Shore Hospital, where she was pronounced dead. The man believed to be the suspect fled the scene, authorities said.
The town was on lockdown for several hours while police searched the woods around Route 3A, near where the fatal shooting occurred, police said.
“This remains an active and ongoing homicide investigation,” Plymouth District Attorney Tim Cruz said during a press conference Monday night shortly after 10 p.m.
Marshfield Police Chief Rick Gramza thanked the public for their patience during the lockdown. “It’s only a matter of time,” he said during the press conference.
Gramza said to the best of his knowledge, the suspect is no longer in the Marshfield area. The part of Route 3A in Marshfield that had been blocked off will be reopened.
K-9 units, SWAT teams, Massachusetts State Police, and a number of local police agencies came to assist the Marshfield Police Department. State Police are asking for the public’s help in finding Warner. He’s believed to be driving a gray 2013 Toyota Corolla, with a Massachusetts license plate: 4FSZ80.
“He is to be considered armed and dangerous,” Cruz said. “If anybody comes in contact with him, please call 911 immediately. Do not approach him. Call 911 immediately if you see him or his vehicle.”
