A condolence meeting was held in Versova, Andheri on Tuesday to mourn veteran surbahar player Guru Ma Annapurna Devi, who passed away October 13. Leading artistes including flutist Pt Hariprasad Chaurasia and santoor maestro Pt Shivkumar Sharma paid their respects. Guru Ma Annapurna Devi was former wife of great sitarist Pundit Ravi Shankar. She was born in Madhya Pradesh's Maihar town to Baba Allauddin Khan and Madina Begum. Guru Maa was 91 years old. She played an immense role nurturing the talent of generations of musicians including her former husband Pt Ravi Shankar.
