Macron encourages more trade between France and China

(9 Jan 2018) France's President Emmanuel Macron criticised his country's trade imbalance with China, saying both nations needed to improve investment opportunities and access to companies.
Macron, travelling to China with a French business delegation, wants to secure deals his government hopes will produce greater access to China's growing market.
China is France's biggest Asian trading partner but the French side reported a 30 billion euro (nearly 36 billion US dollar) trade deficit last year.
